New Biology - Epigenetics
Educate yourself series Pt3

After the truly shocking discoveries of quantum physics and mechanics lets look at Biology and learn what happend in the last 50 years.
Again, what I learnt in school, looking at cells and the importance of DNA and genetic determination didn't prepare me for what epigenetics has to say. Needless to say it is a totally different model and again has the power to alter our perception on a fundamental basis.
Darwinism and Biology
Thanks to Clarles Darwin (1809-1882) and his valuable book (The Origin of Species) most of our biology studies are based on the laws and principles that were discribed or inspired by his ideas and observation.
This biology tells us that we are nothing more than a bunch of cells and if we study the cell we will understand the whole body and all its functions.
It informs us that our health and fate are encoded in our DNA that we inherit and cannot change.
Evolution is basically the survival of the fittest and genetic mutation.
As you can see according to this (really) old paradigm we are helpless victims in our life, ruled by physical forces, our bodies are machines programmed by our inheritance.
It's easy to see how dis-empowering this approach is and how it can keep us from search and discover beyond our limitations.
Again how depressing this worldview is!
Let's see what epigenetics has to say about this, thank to Dr Bruce Lipton.

Epigenetics
Let's summerize what does epigenetics say about you and the world according to this new paradigm?
It tells us that genes are just blueprints and you read the blueprints and you have the power to change them. It says that the genes are controlled by of how you respond to or percieve the world around you. It imformes us that we are powerful creators of our lives and our minds are powerful tools to shape and alter our everyday reality.
Wow, again two very different model, again a definite paradigm shift in Biology as well. So where does this leave us?
Again I would like to highlight that the past 50 years was extremely rich in new evidence and exploration and I want to suggest to take a deeper look to better understand the implications in our everyday life.
Food for thought
Why is the mainstream biology mostly based on a book that was written in the mid 1800?
How does this new information, this new science changes the way you see yourselves and the world?
