The Multidimensional Self
Educate yourself Series Pt6
Recap - The Science Revolution
Before we go on with our discovery let's pause and recap what did we learn so far in this free and mind opening journey?
As we look around we can see that change is happening on every level, we experience it in our everyday lives. Our quest is to understand this change on a practical level and to utilize its benefits to live a healthier, happier and more balanced life.
Fundamental change can be seen in all areas of science and interestingly the emerging results all seem to point to the same direction.

The current paradigm shift is catalyzed and supported by new scientific discoveries that suggest we have to change our perspective in terms of how we think about ourselves and our world.

What is A Paradigm Shift?
Paradigm
The accepted theories, values, and scientific practices within which a particular field of science operates.
Paradigms change with time even though scientists don't like this very much, that's why it is usually accompanied by a big resistance.
"Science finally proved what the mystics told us already thousands of years ago."
Recap - The New Paradigm
All is One. Everything is connected. Everything is conscious and alive.
New evidence shows without a doubt that the universe is a dynamic web of interconnected and inseparable energy patterns. We are all one and our reality is created by the perception of our mind. We are all made from the same stuff, you, me, the table, the house and everything that exists. Everything is always moving, changing, vibrating in different frequency even if it appears to be solid and motionless. Time, space and matter is an illusion created by the mind. We all are active part of this creation, we are participating in it all the time by perceiving and interpreting our reality. This is how we create our reality.
There is no fixed reality. Everything depends on the observer, on You.

"Space and time are the framework from which the mind is contsrained to construct its experience of reality."
(Imanuel Kant)
We simply mistake our experience as a correct representation of the world. Thinking is simply a tool, one of the senses, but we elevated it and we think we are our thoughts. There is much more to reality. We are much more than we think we are.
Who are you? - The multidimensional self
Science tells us that we are more than our physical bodies, we are more than what we can perceive with our 5 senses. We are conscious energy beings existing on a multilevel, in many realities simultaneously. We 'think' out thoughts into reality.
4 Aspects of the Multidimensional Self

Ancient spiritual traditions
The new science tells us that we are much more than our physical form. But what exactly are we? Ancient traditions that have been existing for thousands of years help us to understand and interpret these new scientific models and discoveries.
Tibetean Medicine (2000 yrs old)
In ancient Tibetan medicine there is no separation between the body-mind-spirit. They also believe that how your mind works determines the quality of life you live, life you create.
Buddhism (2500 yrs old)
Buddhism focuses on the transcendence of the mind as path for liberation and peace and health.
From a buddhist perspective the mind is the creator of the sickness or the health. Therefore the cause of the disease is internal, not external and you are the saviour of yourself.
You are the healer.
Ayurveda (5000 yrs old)

In ancient India the main principle of Ayurvedic medicine states that as long as balance exists illness will not occur.
Ayurveda treats people not disease. In this system the healer facilitates the restoration of inner balance.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (2000 yrs old)
What we find in traditional Chinese medicine again is a very similar aproach. Mind, body and spirit are integrated components of optimal health. In terms of healing You hold the key to your health, you are the real healer.
Instead of treating the disease, the emphasis is on determining and treating the cause of the illness.
Shamanic Healing (100.000 yrs old)
Then what we find in shamanic practices, which is the oldest spiritual healing practice all around the world, is the recognition of spirit world and our spirit self as an essential part for health and harmony. From this perspective the false identification and obsession with our body and mind created a disconnection from our spiritual self. This imbalance affects the whole being and creates illness and dis-ease.
You are a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being

Based on the new scientific evidence and the wisdom of the ancient healing practices we realise that we are our body, mind and spirit and all these aspects are innate and essential parts of the multidimensional self. Many healing modalities emphasise the emotional nature of our being as well and I will add this emotional part here too. The reason for that is simple, it is one thing to have a mental concept of pain for example but it is quite different to feel the pain, I think you all agree. From a healing perspective I will dedicate a separate part for the emotional aspect (the heart) of our being, which is often times overlooked in the healing process.
Food for thought
How does this information change the way you think about yourself and the world?
Do you think that modern scientific discoveries and ancient healing traditions that go back for thousands of years have something to offer to modern medicine (which is less than 200 yrs old) to make healing less invasive and more effective?
