Discovering the Mental Body - The Power of your Mind

Educate yourself series Pt14

The power of the Your Mind

You create your reality. This is not only a spiritual understanding but a scientific fact as well by now.

Let's understand more how this creation happens through your mind. You are going to see very clearly how everything is connected and how your thoughts create emotions and eventually result in an action and a behavior.

From thought to manifestation

Thought, idea - emotion – action, behavior – effect, result – your life experience - your life

All yout thoughts are coming from the basic beliefs that you have in your mind. In the previous post we discovered that most of those beliefs were created in early childhood and formed your Mind.

Destructive, self sabotaging belief systems

Do your beliefs work against you?

A destructive belief means a belief that is in contradiction (goes against) with the wellbeing of the whole person.

Believing that somebody is not deserving for example will limit the individual's life experience, keeping him or her to fulfill a deep desire and experience the full expression of health and wellbeing. You can imagine this like an inner force of sabotage that works against your own good. You know when do do something and you feel "I can't believe that I did that again":)

On the other hand a belief like "I deserve the best of all experience" will serve the individual to reach for and therefore attain higher levels of fulfillment, joy, health and happiness.

Therefore this constructive belief is always in alignment, in harmony with the wellbeing of the whole person, with the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual connected individual identity.

Observation of the environment forms thought patterns, beliefs, ideas

Somebody who grew up in scarcity and heard many times therfore deeply believes that “there is not enough” will have a lot of thoughts and beliefs that are aligned, in sync with this basic belief. Like: I never gonna get enough, I am not good with money, others are lucky and I am dammed in this department, no matter how much I try I can never get enough, in the end it is never enough, nobody is helping me, I am alone in all this, it is easy for others but hard for me to do it, it is really difficult to make ends meet so on and so forth.

"Based on my experience I don't believe I can have what I really want"

Your thoughts create an emotional state (feeling) and also change the physiology of your physical body.

Feeling lack, frustration, anger, resentment, desperation, helplessness, feeling stuck, unable to move forward will release stress hormones in your body and weaken your immune system for example.

Thoughts create

emotional state - feeling

You feel the way you think

"Based on my experience I don't believe I can have what I really want. This makes me feel bad and frustrated."

Let's take a look at another person who has many thoughts like: money comes easily to me, I always live in abundance, Everything I need I have right now, everybody loves me, things are always working out for me, I am fortunate and blessed with so much all the time. The more I have the more flows to me without effort, there is so much support around me and it is easy and fun to play around and enjoy life so much so on and so forth.

Feeling good is important

Feeling optimism, gratitude, positive expectation, excitement, ease, joy and flow will release 'happy' hormones in your body, strengthen your immune system and help you to balance and energise your physical body as a bonus!

Do you think it matters

what you think?

Are you aware of your thoghts,

the chatter in your mind?

Do you know how you feel?

Are you enjoying your life?

We are creatures of habit

Your belief system is the actual set of ideas, thought patterns from which you live your daily life, those which govern your words and actions. Without these belief systems you could not function in your eveyday life and give it some meaning.

Hierarchy of Beliefs

You can imagine the structure of your mind like a pyramid shape.

Your basic ideas about who you think you are, how do you think the world works what do you think is possible for you form your core belief system.

This belief system defines your identity - who do you think you are.

Your core belief system is at the bottom of the pyramid and 'holds up' the whole belief-system structure.

This means that your everyday actions come from (start from) a belief (program) that is rooted (programmed) deep in your mind.

"About 95% of our lives are created by disempowering, self-sabotaging, limiting programs, beliefs that we established in the first 7 years of our lives."

Dr Bruce Lipton

As you decide what you eat, what do you want to put in your body, what is your preference in terms of selecting your food, the same way you can decide what do you put into your mind, what do you focus on, what do you think of.

"Energy flows where attention goes.

What are you thingking of?"

Now you are starting to understand that your mind is not something separate from you and has a life of its own but rather an essential part of your being that deeply influences your life and even more it is the most powerful tool through which you create our life your health and happiness.

Is your belief serving you?

It is easy to become aware of your thoughts once you start paying attention to the thinking process in your head. Or simply you can just pay an attention how you feel first then follow that feeling to lead you to the thought that you are thinking, the thought that generated the emotion. In general there are two major types of beliefs.

Constructive belief: in alignment with what you want, helping you to fulfill your desire, making you feel good.

Destructive belief: in resistance with what you want, preventing you from what you really want, making you feel bad.

Journaling - develop a reflective mind

A simple way to introduce mindfulness in everyday life

There' a strong connection between happiness and mindfulness. Journaling brings you into that state of mindfulness, past frustrations and future anxieties lose their edge in the present moment. It calls the wandering mind to attention, from passivity to actively engaging with your thoughts. It will also increase your creativity, significantly improve your self-confidence and immeadiately make you feel better and have a sense of relief.

The Contradiction in your mind

The inner frustration, the inner tension in your mind always comes from destructive beliefs and this simply means having contradictory thoughts.

"I want something but I believe I can't have it."

Resistance

The contradictory thoughts create resistance and disrupt the energy flow and this is how the imbalance is created in the mental body, in the mind. Healing, returning to balance from this perspective is simply becoming aware and letting go of contradictory thoughts, self sabotaging beliefs and re-establishing harmony, free flow of energy and peace of mind.

Look within - open your mind

If you want to feel better, heal, enjoy your life more and create the best life that you can, you need to look within and examine your unconscious beliefs.

Maybe when you were a child or when you were younger you didn't know how this mind-body thing works, maybe you didn't have a clear understanding of how your life is created and how important you are in this creation, you might have not known that it matters what you think, it matters what your focus your mind to but now you do.

Now you do and this is wonderful because the mind is a wonderful tool that can help you greatly to get back the power over your life and make better choices.

What if you would try? What do you have to loose?

Why not now?

Body - Mind - Emotions

As you understand more how everything is connected you start to recognize this connectivity in yourself and in your everyday life.

Your emotions (energy in motion) are generated by your thoughts. First there is always a thought, idea, word then it expands and creates a resonant emotional response that you can feel.

When you feel an emotion the physiology of your body changes (e.g. Feeling happy, elated – releasing 'feel good' hormones) your emotions affect, influence your physical body.

Connectedness

It is important for you to understand that everything is

connected and it really does matter what do you think of, focus on most of the time. Your thoughts and your emotions are always connected and cannot be separated from each other. Similar way they are both connected to your physical body and influence your physiology and ultimately your health and wellbeing.

Take a moment for yourself now

Think of a very nice experience you had not so long ago maybe a holiday or something really nice happening to you and marvel on it for a few minutes recalling the small details and how good you have felt in that particular experience. After a few minutes you will 'feel' much better even though you did 'nothing' apart from changing your mind and focusing on something pleasant. Observe how your thoughts create different feelings in your body:)

Mind over matter

So you see in terms of your physical health it matters how you feel, it matters what thoughts you think, what mind-set do you have because it is all connected, you are all connected all the time. Therefore it is only possible to achieve perfect health, balance and happiness if you start taking responsibility for your thoughts and beliefs too.

Meditative Yoga Technique

Tibetan Buddhist Monks have amazing power over their minds and bodies, they can control physiological processes, such as blood pressure and body temperature to an extent that many medical doctors find astounding.

Self healing with the power of the mind

Louis Hay: You can Heal your Life (1984)

In her best seller book, Louise explains how our beliefs and ideas about ourselves are often the cause of our emotional problems and physical maladies and how, by using certain tools, we can change our thinking and our lives for the better.

“If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed.”

Louis Hay

Brandon Bays: The Journey

In this amazing process we can witness the non-physical factors in healing and take a closer look on how the dis-ease is created and can be healed from within.

"Brandon's healing is a testament to the power of our innate wisdom as healer."

Re-balancing the Mind

The Mind is your most powerful tool of creation. Whether you want to create better health or a better job you can't leave your mind out of the question. In terms of health and wellbeing the ideal state is to achieve a balanced, peaceful and clear mind where no contradicting thoughts arising. When this happens is no tension, resistance in the mind.

Clear Mind can be achieved in many ways but it requires some practice. This mindfulness practice for example is in the center of the Tibeatian Buddhism but you don't have to be a monk or even buddhist to encorporate simple practices in your everyday life. The first step is to take resposibility for your thoughts and recognize the power they have in creating your life-experience.
